Ayeyarwaddy Delta is one of the most complicated river systems on the world. The tour covers a visit to river fishing and pound fishing villages as well as pottery making places those were major business career of the local people living in the region. Detail Itinerary

Day-01: Yangon – Kawatkin - Ma U Bin (L/D)

rvmahaythi5Embark on board RV Mahaythi at 08:00 AM from Wardan Jetty. Start sailing from Yangon at around 08:30 AM Arrive Kawatkin around 12:00 noon. After lunch, sightseeing around Kawatkin Village. Then, continue sailing to Maubin, one of the major trading towns located in Ayeyardwaddy Delta. Arrive at Maubin around 16:30 PM.
Evening take a walk around the city before dinner onboard. Overnight on board.

Day-02: Ma U Bin – Maletto – Kayin Chaung (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board before taking half day excursion trip to local fishing ponds near Maletto Inn by small boats.
Arrive back to the main boat around noon and continue navigating back to Kayin Chaung Karen nationalities' village. Arrive Kayin Chaung around 16:00 PM. Visit around the village. Kayin Chaung is the village that was located on the trek Cyclone Nargis – one of the Asia's worst disaster. Overnight onboard near Kayin Chaung.

Day-03: Kayin Chaung – Twante – Yangon (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board and proceed back to Twante. Arrive Twante around 10:00 AM. Highlights are Twante vegetable market and pottery making village. If you can interested you can also visit to the Shesandaw Pagoda which was build 25 years earlier than Shwedagon Pagoda and also inherited with Buddha Relics. Depart Twante around 12:00 noon and arrive to Yangon around 15:00 PM. Disembark RV Mahaythi and transfer back to your hotel by your travel agent.

NARGIS Memorial Cruise

rvmahaythi202 & 03 May 2008 were a memorial days for Myanmar people and was a black out days for those living in the Ayarwaddy Delta Area. Over 134,000 people were died and missed after Cyclone Nargis ripped through Myanmar's Ayarwaddy Delta. An estimated 2.4 million people have been left destitute. One and Half Year, RV Mahaythi has introduced a mystery tour to Cyclone infected small towns and villages for those who would like to witness the incomplete developments that have been done by international aids groups and NGOs with the aim of filling up the requirements still needed for the local communities and the victims of Nargis by committing itself that 75% of the profit earned on this Memorial Cruise will be donated and used in the development works and programs.

Detail Itinerary

Day-01: Yangon – Kawatkin - Ma U Bin (L/D)

Day-02: Ma U Bin – Maletto – Kyaiklat (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board before taking half day excursion trip to local fishing ponds near Maletto Inn by small boats. Arrive back to the main boat around noon and sail down to Kyaiklat which was one of the towns located on the Cyclone Nargis's Trek. Arrive at Kyaiklat around 17:30 PM. Take a walk around the town centre and overnight on board.

Day-03: Kyaiklat- Phyarpon - Kyaikhtaw (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board. After breakfast, a presentation of rehabilitations and donation opportunities would be presented by a local representative or NGOs' representative. Then, continue cruise down to Phyarpon Township which is a major trading towns of delta regions badly hit by Nargis too. Afternoon, cruise back to Kyaikhtaw to moor the night. Overnight onboard near Kyaikhtaw.

Day-04: Kyaikhtaw - Kayin Chaung – Twante – Yangon (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board and continue navigating back to Kayin Chaung Karen nationalities' village. Arrive Kayin Chaung around 16:00 PM. Visit around the village. Breakfast on board before taking half day excursion trip to local fishing ponds near Maletto Inn by small boats. Arrive back to the main boat around noon and continue navigating to Shwelaung. Arrive Shwelaung around 17:00 PM. Overnight onboard near Shwelaung.

Day-03: Shwe Laung – Sabaeyoo -Wakema – Sakamyar (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board before taking half day excursion trip to Sabaeyoo Village by small boat. This trip is a really interesting trip by sailing up a small stream for about 45 minutes till to it ending point where the multi-billion local fishing businesses based. Then, take the ox-cart back for the return journey to Sabaeyoo Village to witness the villagers' lives and the local black-smith workshop. Arrive back to the main boat around noon and continue sailing to Wakema, another trading city of Delta Region filled with dock yards, rice mills and vermicelli factories. Then, continue cruise to Sakamyar Village to moor the night. Arrive Sakamyar around 17:30 PM. Evening take a walk around the village's road. Overnight on board.

Day-04: Sakamyar - Myanung Mya - Pathein (B/L/D)

Breakfast on board while continue navigating to Pulu village, famous for its ancient monastery and continue to Myaung Mya. Enjoy the great scenery of the river side and in touch culture of the villages. Around 10:30 AM, arrive to Myaung Mya which is another major trading town, also well known for the nearby group of ancient stupas (Bagan style) and the Mya Sein Yaung monastery, where the brother of the late Tharmanya Sayadaw (chief monk) is living. At noon depart from Myaung Mya and continue to Pathein – the capital of Ayeyarwaddy Division. Arrive Pathein around 17:30 PM. Visit night market in Pathein and overnight on board.

Day-05: Pathein - Ngwe Saung Beach (B)

Breakfast on board and disembark to visit famous Umbrella making home cottage before transfer to Ngwesaung beach.
