Ancient Myanmar ( 12 Days / 11 Nights)

(Yangon – Bagan – Popa - Mandalay- Mingun –Sittwe – Mrauk U  - Yangon)

Day 1 Yangon arrival by Int’l Flight (morning)

On arrival, welcome by our tour guide at the Yangon Int’l airport and transfer to your hotel. Check – in at the hotel. Start to visit in the city tour including Chaukhtakyi Pagoda (Huge Reclining Buddha), Karaweik Royal Barge on the Kandawgyi Lake, Nanthida Jetty and then walking tour in the Colonial downtown of Yangon and Sunset at World Famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 Yangon – Bagan ( By Flight ) – Bagan City Tour

After Breakfast at hotel, Transfer to airport fly to Bagan; represents the spiritual heritage and heartland of old Burma. Arrive Bagan and visit the major temples and monuments of the town, the local Nyaung-U Market, monasteries and caves. And then visit lacquer-ware making to learn about the fascinating technique of this art. Enjoy the beautiful sunset over Bagan from a temple. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3 Bagan – Popa – Bagan

After Breakfast at hotel, drive to Mt. Popa , an extinct volcano which is the legendary home of the Nats (or Spirits). Stop en route at a local toddy palm farmers, hut and observe the techniques used in collecting and making the delicious toddy palm suger and toddy palm drink. Then at the foot of Mt. Popa we stop at a local market which has exotic fruits and then visit to Mt. Popa will be enchanted by detail explanations of the spirit beliefs (Nats) and how it blends in with traditional Buddhism . Then drive back to Bagan and continue to visit sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel .

Day 4 Bagan – Mandalay – Amarapura – Mandalay ( By Flight )

After Breakfast at hotel, Transfer to airport fly to Mandalay. Arrive Mandalay Int’l Airport. Drive to Amarapura to visit Mahagandayon monastery where more than a thousand disciplined monks & novices as they line up to receive their daily offering of alms & food from faithful Buddhists and to see their last meal fo the day in total silence . (If you are lucky, you can see food offering ceremony there) And to enjoy the atmosphere of U Bein's bridge; a picturesque teak wood bridge and then continue visit traditional hand loom factory. Drive to Mandalay. And continue visit Mahamuni Buddha Image (a bronze Buddha image), Wood and Stone carvings, gold leaf beating workshop, ShweKyaung (golden palace monastery), Kuthodaw Pagoda which is famous as the World's Biggest Book. Finally go up Mandalay Hill for beautiful sunset over the misty city.

Overnight at Hotel .

Day 5 Mandalay – Sagaing – Mingun – Mandalay

After Breakfast at hotel, Proceed to Sagaing,a former royal capital and the spiritual center of Myanmar . Hundreds of stupas , monasteries temples and nunneries are to be found in Sagaing Hill. Thousands of monks and nuns retreat here for meditation and contemplation. Visit Kaungmudaw Pagoda (with its huge egg – shaped dome in Ceylonese style) and Soon U Ponnya Shin pagoda on the Sagaing Hill and ercursion silver –smith industery and drive back to Mandalay. And proceed to Mingun by boat. Transfer to jetty and take the private boat to Mingun (about 1 ½ hrs, upstream), Explore the ruins of vast Pahtodawgyi Pagoda (Unfinished Pagoda), a monument to human ambition, Mingun Bell which weighs 110 tons, the World’s largest hanging un-cracked bell ,Myatheindanzedi ,Home for ages. The relaxing trip , it provides a great opportunity to see life on the river.

Return downstream by boat to Mandalay. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6 Mandalay – Yangon ( By Flight )

After Breakfast at hotel, Transfer to Mandalay Int’l Airport to fly Yangon. Arrive Yangon. On the way visit Kabaaye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda), Mahapasana Cave (where sixth Buddhist synod took place). And then check In Hotel. Enjoy shopping at Scott Market (Bogyoke Aung San Market). And, walking around China Town at Evening and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 7 Yangon – Sittwe – Mrauk U ( By Flight & Boat )

Breakfast at hotel, Transfer to Yangon Int’l Airport to fly Sittwe . On arrival at Sittwe air-port, transfer to jetty for private boat trip along the Kaladan River to Mrauk-U about 4 to 7 hours upstream by enjoying river life; sunset from the boat. Check in at hotel and overnight in Mrauk U Hotel.

Day 8 Mrauk U

After breakfast, start sightseeing in Mrauk U, the ancient capital city of Rakhine Kingdom (15th century).First, and visit to city market to see the ways of life of local people. Then, followed by visit to Pharaouk Pagoda, Mong-Khong-Shwe Du Stupa, Pesi Paya, Koe Thaung Temple; a shrine of 90000 Buddha images, Latt-Say Lake (artificial lake with city wall and a gate) and Sandamuni Monastery like a museum and back to hotel for a rest. In the afternoon, visit to the massive Chit-Thaung Temple, a curiously remarkable temple with 80000 Buddha images and relifes, Htaukkhan-Thein Temple likes the fortress, Andaw temple, Ratanabon Stupa, Laymyathanar temple (four sided temple), Laungbanprauk Pagoda locally known as “Plate Pagoda” , Pitakataik (a small library) and to Harritaung hill for Sun-set and back to Hotel and overnight at Hotel. Lunch at local restaurant and dinner at hotel.

Day 9 Mrauk U

After breakfast at hotel and visit Sakyamanaung pagoda, Ratanamanaung pagoda, “Thet” village to see the women wearing the big ear-rings and different life-style, Nann-Oo Buddha image and Mingalamanaung pagoda. Afternoon, visit archaeological museum attached with the palace site, latkaukzee monastery, Lawkamanaung pagoda,Parabaw Buddha image and drive to Shwe-taung hill for Sun-set Back to Hotel and overnight at Hotel.

Day 10 Mrauk U – Sittwe ( By Boat )

After Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to jetty for the boat back to Sittwe and enjoying the river views. On arrival in Sittwe, transfer to hotel and check in. Visit Cultural Museum, View-Point beach for Sun-set and back to hotel and overnight at Hotel.

Day 11 Sittwe – Yangon ( By Flight )

After breakfast, visit whole sale fish market at Sittwe, Paragyi temple, Mahakuthala monastery,Lawkanandar pagoda next to Sakyamuni Buddha image and transfer to Sittwe Airport for the flight back to Yangon. Arrive Yangon. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12 Yangon Departure

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for return flight.
